Terms of use

The terms on which the house is kept open.

Short, and meant to be read. Our standards are set out in full on the House page.

1. What this is

The Estate Potager is a private garden record: a place to keep the history of beds, soil, trees, seeds, harvests and years, with advisory AI voices. It is a record and an adviser. It is not a supplier, a contractor, an agronomist, a valuer or a legal service.

2. Your account and your records

You are responsible for what is entered into your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials to yourself. Invite only people you intend to have access. Records are private to your account, and we do not publish or sell them.

3. Membership and payment

Membership is by plot: The Seasonal Plot at $290 one-time, The Estate at $1,200 per year, and The Heirloom Plot at $4,500 one-time for life. There are no monthly plans. Nothing is charged on this site: a request is recorded, and the house issues a payment link to you. The terms attached to that link, including the term of the plot and what happens if it is not renewed, are those stated in the link.

4. What the house does not do

We record and advise; you or your gardener source, plant and buy. We do not supply weather, live telemetry, sensors, plants, seed, trees, labour, machinery, certification or insurance. We do not guarantee that a crop, tree or plan will succeed, and any yield or value figure is illustrative and labelled.

5. No advice outside our competence

Cultivation and culinary guidance only. We make no medicinal or health claims, and we give no tax, valuation, offset-credit or investment advice. Nothing here is a legal document. The Heirloom Garden Registry is a record of intention and family memory, not a legal will; consult a solicitor for anything binding.

6. Printed outputs

The Garden Handover Brief, the Garden Year and the Frost Watch Brief are printed by you, on your own printer or through a printer of your choosing. We do not print, bind or post physical documents.

7. Your content and our copyright

What you enter into your own account remains yours. Everything we have written — the house’s prose, teaching, imagery, design and the five voices — is the copyright of The Estate Potager. Scraping, cloning, republishing or presenting it as another product is a breach of copyright and is handled under the DMCA.

8. Acceptable use

Do not use the house to break the law, to infringe another’s rights, to scrape or bulk-extract content, to attempt to reach another member’s records, or to present the house’s material as your own. Access may be withdrawn where that happens.

9. Availability

We keep the house open and in good order, but we do not promise uninterrupted service, and we may change or withdraw a room. Where we withdraw something material from a plot you have paid for, we will say so on this site.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If any clause is found unenforceable, the rest stands.
